Last week I was invited onboard the Lady Sandals for a lovely evening while she was docked at the Chelsea Piers in NYC. This was an exclusive event for select travel agents and I was lucky enough to go. Once onboard we were hosted by the man himself, Mr Butch Stewart, Owner and CEO of Sandals Resorts. We were treated to a wonderful dinner and heard all the new updates at Sandals Resorts, wow some amazing changes are happening. Get yourselves all dressed up for a romantic dinner, we recommend La Parisienne or Marios. After dinner take a stroll on the beach, enjoy a drink from the bar and listen to musicians in the courtyard before heading back to your room. You will see your room completely transformed when you arrive, rose petals scattered on the bed, chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling wine poured, and to top it all off a bubble bath drawn for two. What a romantic surprise!
3) VIP Beach Day
We'll bet anything this is how Beyonce and Jay Z do a beach day! You can arrange to have a private cabana with a Butler for the day who will give you the VIP treatment. Your cabana is stocked with towels, ice and drinks, your Butler will bring you lunch and drinks from the bar or whatever you desire! Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa
I just returned from a conference that was held at the Westin Hilton Head Resort & Spa. They were wonderful hosts and I am sure to visit again soon, especially since they are dog friendly. Maggie would love to go on vacation with us and next time she will, the dogs are VIP's and even have their own "Heavenly Beds". The Westin just completed a $35 million dollar renovation and it shows, the lobby was completely redone and is such a nice place to relax, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, I love the new colors and brand new bathrooms, the outdoor areas are beautiful and relaxing with multiple pools and seating areas throughout. You can even enjoy the firepits in the evening, just imagine sitting outside feeling the warm tropical breeze and toasting marshmallows..... yum. The resort is located on a beautiful stretch of beach and is just beautiful! What stands out here the most is the staff, they are so friendly and helpful just as you would expect in the South. Definitely plan your next stay in Hliton Head here at The Westin Resort & Spa.

For years my family has been enjoying the beauty and southern hospitality on Hilton Head Island. We love going there for the laid back, relaxing, fun vacations. It really is paradise for so many people, there is so much to do; tennis, golf, biking, boating, fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and so much more. If you want to relax there are amazing beaches and refreshing pools too! For kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding(SUPB) we always visit our friends at Outside Hilton Head in the Shelter Cove Harbour. Try your luck at SUPB or enjoy the sunset kayak tour- it is breathtaking and if you're lucky you will see a few dolphins. The tours are led by naturalist guides who are very knowledgeable and friendly. Your whole family will enjoy!
Another great feature of HHI is the cuisine, there are over 100 non-chain restaurants on this small island and so many of them are great! A few of our favorites are Annie O's Southern Eats, Bistro 17 and Fiesta Fresh Grill. AtAnnie O's they serve real traditional southern foods like fried chicken, mac & cheese and shrimp & grits all made from scratch and don't forget the sweet tea. Bistro 17 is our go to restaurant for celebrations and is located in Shelter Cove Harbour, grab an outdoor table here and enjoy beef bourguignon, french onion soup or lobster salad. Fiesta Fresh Grill is a never miss for Mexican food, you will find great value here with delicious food and big portions. The owners are so friendly and we always leave happy. Hilton Head Island is easy to reach, it's an easy drive from the east coast and is served by 2 airports, one on Hilton Head Island (US AIR) and Savannah International Airport(45 minutes away)

Woodloch Pines Resort

Most people on Long Island have heard of Woodloch Pines because they have either been there or know someone who has been there. I must say once you go you know....
A little history on Woodloch Resorts which is located on over 1000 acres and can accommodate over 900 guests. The original resort opened in the 1950's by Mary and Harry Kiesendahl (who were from Long Island)on 12 acres and accommodated 40 guests. The current resort consists of Woodloch Pines, Woodloch Springs and The Lodge at Woodloch. The Pines is on the original site on Lake Teedyuskung and offers many different types of accommodations, swimming pools, lake activities and more. The Springs is located about 2.5 miles away on a golf course with villas and large beautiful homes that may be rented as well. The Lodge at Woodloch is a Destination Spa Resort . There are many Fit & Fab wellness programs, mind/body treatments and day spa packages, whatever you choose you will return home focused and well.
Family time is honored here, it is evident in the staff( 4th generation), the facilities, the dining experiences and in the activities that will increase family bonds and fun times. The ways in which my family came together and reconnected is unlike other vacations, we sang at family karaoke, campfires with sing-alongs and the best was when my 16 year old daughter asked me to dance with her, I really love that kid!
What you find here is a beautiful lodge and Disney-like service, and with all of the food and activities included people often refer to Woodloch as a "land cruise" When you arrive here at the main building you really feel like you are home, the lobby is exactly like a typical Pennsylvania living room on a larger scale, complete with big comfy sofas and fireplaces. John Kiesendahl is quoted as saying "we try to treat our guests as if they were company in our home" and believe me, it is evident. Not one day passed by without one of the owners or a family member stopping by to ask how we were doing, what service!
Food is one of the main features at this resort, and with the American meal plan you can enjoy 3 meals a day in the dining room served family style, one of the nice touches is that you sit at the same table for each meal and have the same staff. Menus change daily and the food is excellent! They are very accommodating for children and picky eaters too. Don't forget each meal has a character at the entrance to say hello to the little ones and not so little ones, it really makes the experience so much fun. A non-traditional plan is available for families who want to use kitchen facilities in the rental homes and eat occasionally at the restaurants.
There are so many activities included here at Woodloch, they provide you with a daily schedule each day which includes all the night time shows as well. There is a shuttle that runs all day every 15 minutes from 8am until 2am, no worries about driving, go ahead and indulge.
The evening shows in the Heritage NightClub are quite good and change every night. You will see comedians, ventriloquists, full production shows and amusing staff shows. There is karaoke and dancing in the evening as well. The venue is large and can accommodate 600 people but get there early for a good seat. Table service is provided and we always ordered drinks and pitchers of soda or water for the kids.
We have been to Woodloch 4 previous times with friends and always have a great time. The kids really love the activities and since mine are a little older now they have more freedom to roam around the property without Mom and Dad and they really love that! I always feel very safe here and have met some wonderful people at the resort, many people have been coming to Woodloch for years. While we were there our friends celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, the best is that they got engaged there 27 yrs ago!
